Youth charged with Attempted Robbery
At about 4.40pm on Monday 4th June 2012 a male youth entered the Village Cinema situated at 163 Brisbane Street, Launceston and approached the cashier.
He demanded the cashier hand over money or he would he would stab her. The cashier refused to hand over the money as requested and the youth was pulled from the Cinema by an acquaintance.
No persons were injured in this incident and no weapon was sighted by the victim.
Police attended the scene and after searching the area located the offender nearby. The offender is a 14 year old male who was charged with Attempted Robbery and bailed to appear in court at a later date.
