Youth charged with assault following incident in Hobart CBD area
Police have charged a youth with assault following an incident in the Hobart CBD this afternoon where a 76-year-old woman received a head injury.
Around 1.20pm a group of youths have allegedly thrown objects off the top floor of the Argyle Street Carpark into Wellington Walk.
It will be alleged a 13-year-old has thrown a full can of soft drink off the top floor of the car park which has hit a 76-year-old woman on the head as she was walking in Wellington Walk.
Police attended and arrested the youth who will be subject to the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
The 76-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital where she is undergoing scans for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
