Yesterday, Monday 12 December 2011, police attended 11 reports of vehicle burglaries in the Wynyard area.  This is in addition to two reported vehicle burglaries last Friday 9 December 2011 and a stolen late model silver Holden Commodore Station wagon on Wednesday 7 December 2011.  This vehicle has yet to be recovered. 

Property stolen ranges from small electrical items, such as GPS navigation items, mobile phones, keys and prescription reading glasses.

Nearly all of the vehicles were unlocked or easily accessible, and police have repeated warnings in relation to securing vehicles. 

“The Christmas period is a busy time for shopping and thieves are actively on the lookout for easy targets,” said Detective Constable Buckley.
