Wynyard Police have interviewed a 19 year old Wynyard man in relation to portions of the damage caused in Wynyard on Tulip Festival night in October.

The man spoke with police after being identified from CCTV footage, and has admitted his involvement in causing damage to the roadway, a shop window, a garbage bin and a phone box.

At this stage it is intended that the man undertake restitution in the form of a Community Respect Order.

S/Sergeant Stewart said “It is pleasing that the community came forward and assisted us in relation to this matter.”

Enquiries are continuing into other damage caused on the night.
