Burnie Criminal Investigation Branch has charged a fourteen year old male youth in relation to a large number of vehicle burglaries in the Wynyard area overnight on 11th-12th December 2011. 

The arrest follows the search of a residence where property stolen from some of the vehicles was located.  The youth was also charged with two counts of motor vehicle stealing, one of which relates to the Holden Commodore stolen from Wynyard last week.  He has been bailed to appear in court at a later date.

Police would like to thank members of the public for their assistance in relation to these matters and investigations are continuing in relation to other offenders.

Specific attention by police in the Wynyard area this week has continued to reveal insecure vehicles.  Police would like to reiterate the warning in relation to keeping vehicles secure and to ensure no valuables are left in vehicles.
