Wounding – Kings Meadows

Launceston CIB are investigating an incident which occurred at 12.05am on Sunday, 12 January 2014, at the intersection of Hobart Road and Nunamina Avenue, Kings Meadows.

A 27 year old male motorist stopped to speak to two males after an item was thrown at his vehicle. He was then approached by one of the males, an altercation took place with the driver receiving a knife wound to his right arm. The driver was conveyed to Launceston General Hospital and received medical treatment to his injuries including surgery later in the morning to repair damage to his hand.

Acting Detective Inspector Jonathan Higgins also stated that these two males are also believed to have damaged a car soon after this incident in the same area that was doing a u-turn.

Launceston CIB are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen two males loitering around the Hobart Road area during that time one of the males wearing a red t-shirt carrying a long bladed knife.
