About 8.00pm on Wednesday 7 November 2012 an altercation occurred at the K-Mart complex in Launceston between two females.

A knife was used by one female during the incident resulting in the second female receiving two slash type cuts to her face and the back of her head.

Police attended and a 17 year old female was arrested at the scene.  She was subsequently charged with wounding and being unlawfully armed in public and bailed to appear in the Launceston Youth Justice Court at a later date.

The injuries received are not serious in nature.

Investigations are continuing.
