Police are investigating wounding incident in Swansea last night where a where a woman received a serious injury.

Police were . called to attend a residence at Spring Bay Road around 7:20pm and took a 50-year-old man into custody.  Attending police and the victim were assisted by local members of the community and Tasmania Police would like to extend their thanks for their actions and support.

The incident was isolated and between people known to each other; and there is no threat to the wider community.
