During the afternoon of Friday the 28 November 2014, Devonport Police, involving Uniform, CIB and Forensic personnel, carried out investigations in relation to an incident involving a 31 year old male and 21 year old female.

The woman received head injuries after being struck with an object by the male. The male was arrested soon after. The parties involved were living together at the time of the incident.

As a result of the investigation, Tony John TRAVERS, 31 years, appeared in the Devonport Magistrates Court charged with assault and wounding.

He was subsequently remanded in custody to reappear on Monday the 1 December 2015 by video link.

The victim in this matter was treated in hospital and released.
