Woolworths aggravated robbery
Approximately 5.30pm on Saturday 17 March 2012 the Woolworths supermarket located at King Street Sandy Bay was subject to an aggravated armed robbery.
Two offenders have entered the supermarket and attempted to steal a quantity of meat before being approached by staff.
A physical confrontation has ensued and resulted with one of the offenders producing a knife. As a result a 23 year old male Woolworths staff member received two minor wounds to his upper right leg.
The male staff member received non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the Royal Hobart Hospital. He was released the same day.
On Sunday the 18th of March 2012 members of Hobart CIB conducted a search under warrant in relation to this incident.
A 23 year old male from Hounville and a 20 year old female from Geilston Bay were arrested and charged with aggravated armed robbery, they have both been detained to appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court on Monday, 19 March 2012.
