Women injured in Scamander crash
Police and Emergency Services attended a single vehicle crash on the Tasman Highway, South of Scamander, today.
Around 12:30 this afternoon, a 71-year-old Bicheno woman lost control of the white Toyota Corolla she was driving, which rolled several times before coming to rest in an embankment.
The driver and her 97-year-old passenger were injured in the crash, with both being transported to the St Helens District Hospital for treatment. The women remain in hospital in serious but stable condition.
The cause of the crash is being investigated, though neither alcohol nor speed are considered to be factors.
