Police have fined a 22-year-old woman for failing to isolate as directed after travelling to Tasmania from interstate.

The woman, who travelled from Queensland on 23 August, was directed to isolate at her nominated residence for 14 days.

Police identified the breach during a routine compliance check on Saturday, finding the woman was not present at the address as required.

She was located by police at a different address today and has been issued a fine of $774 for this offence.

There is no evidence that any members of the community were put at risk during the breach.

Police continue to actively monitor people who are required to isolate, with more than 26,000 checks having been conducted since 25 March.
