Woman dies in Copping crash
Sadly police can confirm a woman has died following a two vehicle crash on the Arthur Highway at Copping this morning.
Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and loved ones at this tragic time.
Police and emergency services were called to the scene about 9.20am following the crash near Blue Hills Road.
The highway remains closed between Kellevie Road and Sugarloaf Road while crash investigators conduct inquiries.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner who will determine the cause of the fatal crash.
Initial investigations indicate the crash occurred between a white MG sedan and a silver Toyota Camry sedan.
The deceased woman was a passenger in the white MG sedan and sadly died at the scene. The male driver of the MG sedan was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital with minor injuries.
The female driver and her female passenger in the Camry sedan were both taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital for minor injuries. An infant also travelling in the Camry was uninjured.
This is a tragic incident and will be fully investigated.
