A woman has been charged with common assault and wounding after police were called to an incident at a Devonport residence yesterday.

A 29-year-old man received serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, and remained at the North West Regional Hospital in a stable condition today.

A 23-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and later charged.

She was detained to appear in the Devonport Magistrates Court at a later date.
