Woman charged following house fire in West Moonah
Police have charged a New Town woman following a fire at the front a house in West Moonah last night.
Around 11.55pm last night, Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police were called to a house fire on Sixth Avenue in West Moonah.
The fire was contained to the front of the residence and was quickly extinguished. Damage was limited to the front door and surrounds and was relatively minor.
Fire Service investigators determined the fire to have been deliberately lit.
Police have arrested and charged a 48-year-old woman from New Town with arson. She will appear before the Hobart Magistrates Court later today.
Both the occupant of the house and the offender were known to each other.
The occupant of the house was not injured.
