Woman arrested for stealing in Hobart CBD
Police have charged a 45-year-old women from New Town with seven counts of stealing after she allegedly stole $1700 worth of jewellery, food and clothes from several businesses across Hobart yesterday.
Acting Sergeant Siobhan O’Donovan of Hobart Uniform said around 12.30pm yesterday, police were notified of a woman in a purple wig allegedly stealing items from a Hobart CBD store.
“Police responded, locating her within 15 minutes.”
“It is alleged that stolen items from seven different stores were located on the woman.”
“Tasmania Police is committed to protecting the community and local businesses and detecting and preventing anti-social and criminal behaviour with the aim of making our public spaces safer for everyone,” she said.
