Earlier today 2 males were observed at the scene of an aggravated burglary in the Banca area (near Winnaleah) where items, including several firearms, were stolen.

The men ran off into bushland with the first suspect taken into custody shortly afterwards.

A second suspect was arrested at about 2.30pm today after the Westpac Search and Rescue helicopter and over 30 police officers searched the bushland.

The Special Operations Group was deployed but the matter was resolved before they arrived on the scene.

Police are now managing a number of crime scenes ranging from Cressy to Banca and they will be examined by Forensic Services. Police have also recovered a quantity of stolen property including 6 x firearms, tools and a stolen ATV.

Police would like to thank the community of Banca for their assistance in apprehending the suspects.
