At approximately 3.40pm on Saturday 18 February 2017 the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to attend the Lyell Highway, near Derwent Bridge in relation to the medivac of an injured 63 year old male passenger involved in a single vehicle crash.

The helicopter attended the scene and after being extricated from the vehicle, the male was treated for leg fractures and transported to the RHH in a stable condition.
