Westpac Police Rescue Helicopter Deployed To Injured Trail Bike Rider In Glen Huon

Subsequent to earlier media release the injured trail bike rider was assessed by a flight paramedic.  The rider was a 19 year old male and required medical treatment in place to be stabilised.  The male was then flown to Hobart in a serious but stable condition.

In this case the rider was fortunate to be riding in a party with a number of other riders, thus one member of the party was able to remain in place with him whilst other party members came out of the remote area to phone reception were they could call for assistance.
