At 8:30am on Saturday 18/1/14 the Westpac Helicopter was activated by AMSA due to a PLB activation near the Walls of Jerusalem.

A 58 year old female bushwalker had injured her ankle and was unable to continue her journey. The PLB was registered and the woman was with a walking group of 9 people who were well equipped and well prepared. She was flown to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a stable condition.

Immediately after this incident at 1:30pm, the helicopter was deployed by Ambulance Tasmania to a serious single vehicle crash on Lighthouse Road, Bruny Island. The passenger, a 36 year old Victorian man, was also airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
