Western Road Safety Task Force Seize and Clamp Two Vehicles – Both Incidents within 30 Minutes of each other upon the Bass Highway
Sunday 26th May 2019 at 11:50 a.m. Police detected a White 2010 Subaru Impreza travelling at 123 km/h in the 60 Zone upon the Bass Highway at the Heybridge round-a-bout.
The driver of that motor vehicle has been issued with an infringement notice that includes a fine of $937, 6 demerit points and a 4 month disqualification period. That vehicle was also clamped for a period of 28 days.
Sunday 26th May 2019 at 12:26 p.m. Police successfully road spiked a Blue Holden Commodore Sedan upon the Bass Highway at Latrobe. That vehicle had initially been detected travelling in excess of 100 km/h in a 70 Zone.
The vehicle was ultimately stopped upon the Bass Highway at Sassafras whereby the driver was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Evade, Reckless Driving, Fail to comply with Drivers Licence Conditions and failed a roadside drug test.
