Tasmania Police warns that the current weather conditions in the Tasman Peninsula area are potentially dangerous for vessels.

Marine Police strongly advise that anyone travelling by boat to the Tasman Peninsula should ensure that the vessel and crew are capable of travelling safely in rough weather. If there are any doubts, then the journey should not be undertaken.

In addition the crew must be prepared and equipped to stay on the Peninsula, if required.

Tasmania Police and other agencies are heavily committed to providing support to the community on the Tasman Peninsula, vessels in distress have the potential to detract from this effort and may lead to an unnecessary tragedy.
