Vehicles racing at high speed on Tasman Highway Warrane
Police are requesting witnesses to two vehicles travelling at high speed on The Tasman Highway Warrane, on Saturday 25 October 2015 at 10:20pm. An older white Nissan skyline and a grey Nissan Skyline were travelling at excessive speeds between the Tasman Bridge and the Mornington Roundabout exit, over taking numerous vehicles.
Police have identified one of the vehicles, the driver will be prosecuted and the vehicle has been clamped. Enquiries are being made as to the driver and location of the second vehicle.
“The manner in which the vehicles were being driven was foolhardy, showed a lack of respect to other road users and potentially put lives at risk. Police will not tolerate this manner of driver behaviour,” said Sgt Steve Dine of Southern Roads and Public Order Services.
Police would like to speak with anyone who saw the vehicles and the manner of driving around 10:20pm on Saturday on the Tasman Highway, Warrane. If you have any information please call Sgt Steve Dine on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
