Vehicle Speeding Excessively – Austins Ferry – 17 Aug 2016
Around 3pm yesterday (Wednesday, 17 August 2016) a white Holden Commodore with interstate number plates was detected by police travelling at more than 50km over the speed limit.
Detected in the north bound lanes on the Brooker Highway at Austins Ferry, the vehicle was travelling at 153km in a 100km zone.
Due to the excessive speed, the vehicle was clamped for a 28 day period and the 38 year old female driver will face court.
Another occupant of the car was arrested for unrelated matters.
Acting Sergeant Nic Barnes of Bridgewater Division praised the diligence of attending police officers “we will make sure that serious traffic offenders are held to account to keep the wider community safe on the roads, particularly during times when school traffic can reasonably be expected to be on the roads.”
Any person who witnessed the vehicle driving in the area around the time is asked to contact Bridgewater Police on 6268 4100.
