Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding a vehicle fire at an address in Woniora Road, Shorewell Park, in the early evening of Wednesday 5 December 2012.

The two boys, aged 8 and 5, who were injured in the incident remain in a critical condition in the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. 

Their condition has stabilised in the last 24 hours. The boys remain in the Intensive Care Unit where they are receiving treatment for significant burn injuries. Treating medical staff are hopeful that their condition will continue to improve.

A 49 year old man remains in a critical condition in the Royal Hobart Hospital and is also receiving treatment for significant burn injuries. He remains in ICU.

It is expected to be some time, perhaps weeks, before his condition improves enough to be able to speak to police.
