Update MVA Bass Highway Sassafras
Tasmania Police advise that the 66 year old male driver involved in the serious collision at the Caltex Service Station on the Bass Highway at Sassafras, died at the Royal Hobart Hospital last night.
The male driver and sole occupant of the Mazda van collided with the rear of a parked Iveco Stralis B-Double combination which was parked on the fore court to the service station on Tuesday afternoon.
Investigations into the cause of the collision are on-going and an inquest has been opened into the matter.
Police have not released any names at this stage.
