Inspector Darren Hopkins is conscious, out of the Intensive Care Unit and recovering from his injuries following a light plane crash last month.

His recovery is being managed in the Burns Unit of the Royal Hobart Hospital.

“We are confident of a positive recovery over time,” Commander Brett Smith said.

Tasmania Police continues to provide Darren’s family with support at this difficult time.
