Police are calling for witnesses after the body of a man in his 40s was located in Hobart’s CBD in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to the corner of Campbell and Liverpool St about 2am after a member of the public discovered a man’s body in nearby bushes.

At this stage, police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

Preliminary advice from the pathologist is that there is no evidence to suggest the man had been assaulted.

Police are calling for anyone with information to come forward in relation to the man’s death.

At the time of being located, the man was wearing a black zip up polar fleece top, grey track pants and white sandshoes. Also located with him was a dark blue backpack and a black coloured Piping Hot black pack.
