The search is continuing for missing person, Kim Smith.

At present the Westpac Police rescue helicopter is searching the coast as far east as Stony Head, supported by ground parties of SES volunteers and police, utilising both walking parties and ATVs.

Surf Life Saving volunteers utilising two jet boats are also assisting with the coastal waters search.

"The helicopter has just located a second life jacket on the shore line at Little Badger Head which we can also confirm as belonging to Mr. Smith," Inspector Steven said.

"We are expecting Mr Smith's parents to arrive from WA this afternoon and we will be briefing them as to what has occurred so far and discussing the ongoing search". 

The search will be reviewed at last light today.
