About 8pm on Friday 7 November 2014, Tasmania Fire Services and police were called to a fire in a unit in Nicholls Court in Devonport. A neighbour alerted the fire service in a timely fashion and then made efforts to extinguish the fire.

The fire was extinguished quickly with only minor fire damage and some smoke damage to one room. The unit, owned by Housing Tasmania, suffered damage estimated at approximately $15000 to repair.

The scene was examined by a Fire Scene examiner who determined the fire to be suspicious. Police are currently following a specific line of enquiry but request assistance from the public for any information about the fire. Police can be contacted on 1800 333 000.
