Shortly before 4:30pm on Thursday the 12 December 2013 police were notified of a house fire at 1/1 Fossey Place, Miandetta.

On arrival the structure was found to be well alight.  There were no occupants in the residence at the time.  Unit 2, directly behind unit 1 also received some heat damage however no one was home there either.

Tas Fire Service attended and extinguished the fire.  The residence suffered major damage including a collapsed roof structure.

A fire scene examination will be carried out however at this time the cause is not known.
