At 8.40pm on Wednesday 9 March 2011, emergency services attended a structural fire at a unit in Montagu Street in New Norfolk.  The fire was extinguished and the unit sustained extensive damage, estimated to be $100,000.  The unit was occupied at the time of the fire. 

Today (10 March 2011) Operation Icarus Detectives, from the Eastern District Criminal Investigation Branch, charged a 48 year old female from New Norfolk with Arson in relation to the Montagu Street fire.  She was detained for court this afternoon.

This arson is not linked to the fire at La Bella Pizza in Burnett Street, New Norfolk, which occurred at 4am on Friday 18 February 2011.  Investigators are following specific lines of enquiry in relation to this fire.
