A two bedroom unit at Euroka Court in Upper Burnie, with an estimated value of $150,000 has been destroyed by fire overnight on 22nd September 2014.

At about 11:30pm, Burnie uniform officers and two Tasmania Fire Service appliances attended the unit to find it completely engulfed in flames. It took fire crews approximately 15 minutes to extinguish the fire and confirm the unit was vacant and unoccupied.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage. A scene watch remained overnight and both police and fire investigators will attend this morning to assess the damage.
