A unit located in Stammers Place, Shorewell Park has been damaged by fire overnight on the 3rd of December 2014. Damage of the fire is estimated at $30,000.

Approximately midnight, Burnie uniform officers and three Tasmania Fire Service crews attended the brick unit to find it engulfed in flames. It took fire crews approximately 30 minutes to extinguish the fire and confirm the house was vacant at the time.

Sections of the structure were destroyed by fire with the remainder of the premises receiving smoke and water damage. The cause of the fire is unknown at this stage. A scene watch remained overnight and both police and fire investigators will attend this morning to assess the damage.
