8.25am:

Police are investigating a suspected murder of a woman at an address in Main St, Ulverstone reported  in the early hours of this morning.

The woman was found deceased at the address when police were called at around 3am today.

Police are currently speaking with witnesses, and forensics officers are examining the scene.

Further specialist forensics officers are travelling from Hobart to the scene.

The section of Main St between Shaw St and Eastlands Drive will remain cordoned off for some hours.

Anyone who saw a vehicle or a person or anything suspicious in the area at the time is asked to call police on 131 444.

7.45am:

Police are currently on scene at an address in Main St, Ulverstone conducting a crime investigation.

One person is deceased.

Police were called to the residence at 3am today and currently have the street cordoned off between Shaw St and Eastland Drv.

Anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around that time is asked to call Police on 131 444.
