Two vehicle crash East Derwent Highway
A 38 year old man from Risdon Vale is in a serious condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the Royal Hobart Hospital after a two vehicle crash on East Derwent Highway, Geilston Bay at 4.15am on Saturday 15th of December 2012.
A white Hyundai Excel hatch motor vehicle was being driven in a southerly direction on the Highway by a 34 year old woman from Risdon Vale. Opposite the GeilstonBayHigh Schoolgrounds the Hyundai has veered to its left and struck the rear of a silver Ford utility which was parked on the side of the road. There was no one in the Ford utility at the time.
Both occupants of the Hyundai were conveyed to the RoyalHobartHospitalby ambulance. The driver sustained only minor injuries.
The traffic flow on the highway was disrupted for approximately three (3) hours whilst crash investigators and forensic police examined the scene.
The investigator, Constable Lauren McMAHON, would like to hear from any member of the public who may have witnessed the crash or seen the Hyundai prior to the incident.
