Two people have been charged following an attempted armed robbery at a Derwent Park newsagency yesterday morning.

A 33 year old woman and a 45 year old man, both from Moonah, have been charged with attempted armed robbery.

The woman has also been charged with evade police, and the man has also been charged with attempted motor vehicle stealing, after he was caught trying to steal a vehicle in Hobart later in the day.

Both people will appear in court in Hobart today.
