Two charged after two separate firearms seizures in Devonport

Two men have been charged after police seized two imitation firearms and a homemade firearm during two separate searches in the past week.

Members of Taskforce Scelus located and seized two gel blasters and a quantity of drugs during a search on Friday 6 December, and a 55 year old Devonport man was subsequently charged.

He was bailed to appear in the Devonport Magistrates Court in February.

The second man was charged after members of Taskforce Scelus intercepted and searched a vehicle at Devonport on 8 December.

During the search, police located and seized a homemade handgun.

A 36 year old East Devonport man was charged with firearm and drug-related offences and bailed to appear in Devonport Magistrates Court in February.
