At 9.20am today (Thursday, 25 August 2016) police attended a truck and trailer rollover at the roundabout on the Bass Highway, Sulphur Creek.

The rollover occurred when the truck failed to negotiate the roundabout and rolled onto its side in the west-bound lanes of the Bass Highway.

The 40 year old female driver of the truck was transported to the North West Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

A shipping container being carried by the truck contained alcohol.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The rollover caused minor delays to traffic for three and a half hours.

The crash was attended by Tasmania Police, Tasmania Ambulance Service, Tasmania Fire Service and Transport Tasmania.

The investigation into the rollover is ongoing and will be carried out by Tasmania Police and Transport Tasmania.
