Truck Crash Bass Highway – Black River

On the 1/7/14 at 11.50am a Scania Truck towing a full loaded refrigerated container was travelling east on the Bass Highway just east of the Black River Bridge in Circular Head where it was involved in a single vehicle crash. The trailer and container tipped blocking the east bound lane, the truck remained upright.

The sole occupant and driver of the truck suffered minor injuries and was transported to the NWRH, Burnie for treatment.

Police, Tas Ambulance, Tas Fire Service volunteer units and SES units were in attendance at the crash site.

The west bound lane remained open but was blocked for 2 hours from 4pm to 6pm whilst two cranes assisted in the removal of the trailer and container.
