Tree Felling incident Mt Lloyd

Police and Emergency Services responded to calls for assistance following a tree felling incident at Mt Lloyd on Saturday afternoon.

A man, from Herdsmans Cove, and his partner and her three children, from Gagebrook, had gone to collect some firewood.

A felled tree had fallen on their vehicle crushing the car and causing injury to two of the children. A seven year old boy received serious injuries and his five year old sister received injuries to her upper body.

The man’s partner and third child were able to escape from the vehicle uninjured.

Both injured children were transported to hospital.  Sadly the seven year old boy passed away yesterday afternoon as a result of his injuries.

Police investigations are continuing at this time and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
