Tasmania Police are attending a forested area north of Buckland after the death of a man who was wood cutting.

The man, in his 50’s, was wood cutting with his son when he was struck on the head by a falling tree.

He was deceased when emergency services arrived at the scene, 15 kilometres north of Buckland on Buckland Road.

The alarm was raised by the man’s son about 7.45am this morning.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
