Train incident update
A 62 year old female from Claremont died in the Intensive Care Unit of the Royal Hobart Hospital on the evening of Thursday the 5th day of June 2014 after having been struck by a south bound train on the level crossing at Boxhill Road, Claremont early that morning.
The incident occurred at 9.30am. At that time the woman was walking her dog. The dog received minor leg injuries.
The flashing warning lights and audible alert were operating at the level crossing.
The crash investigator, Senior Constable Kelly CORDWELL, indicates a report for the Coroner is being prepared.
The investigator would like to hear from any member of the public who may have witnessed the incident or saw the pedestrian prior to the collision.
