Traffic Offenders
On Monday evening 5th May 2014, Claremont Police intercepted a 24 year old male driver in Claremont due to his driving behaviours. The driver was charged with drink driving, having recorded a reading in excess of 5 times the legal limit at 0.267. The driver was bailed to appear in Hobart Magistrates Court.
On Tuesday morning 6th May 2014, Glenorchy police detected a 20 year old male unaccompanied learner driver travelling at 37kph above the speed limit on the Brooker Highway at Granton. He was subjected to an ‘on the spot’ disqualification period of 3 months, and a fine.
Members of Glenorchy Police make no apology for pro-actively seeking out people who endanger themselves, and others by their manner of driving.
