Traffic Management and road closure for the Hobart Christmas Pageant
2013 HOBART CHRISTMAS PAGEANT
Hobart Police wish to advise motorists of the following road closures that will occur on Saturday 16 November 2013 to coincide with the Hobart Christmas pageant.
The following roads will be closed from 7.00am to allow for the formation and input of the pageant infrastructure;
At 7.00am
- Campbell Street, between Brisbane Street and Macquarie Street;
- Liverpool Street between Brooker Avenue and Argyle Street; and
- Collins Street between Argyle Street and Brooker Avenue;
At 9.00am
- Liverpool Street between Argyle Street and Harrington Street;
- Collins Street between Argyle Street and Harrington Street;
- Argyle Street between Macquarie Street and Bathurst Street;
- Elizabeth Street between Macquarie Street and Bathurst Street;
- Murray Street between Macquarie Street and Bathurst Street;
- Harrington Street between Macquarie Street and Bathurst Street
- Market Place;
- Victoria Street;
- Criterion Street;
- Watchorn Street.
Alternative routes will be available for other motorists to move in and around the city area. A traffic management plan has been developed for this to occur. Motorists should take special notice of signs placed around the city for this purpose. Any queries can be directed to the Tasmania Police Website relating to the closing and opening of roads.
All streets will re-open at the end of the pageant following the removal of all council infrastructure and pedestrians from the roadway.
To ensure pedestrian and spectator safety no vehicles will be allowed to remain parked within the pageant route.
