Motorists can expect some traffic delays within the area of Salamanca Place over this weekend to coincide with events surrounding the Salamanca Arts Festival.

At approximately 1pm on Saturday 31 March 2012, Davey Street, at the junction with Salamanca Place will be closed for a period of approximately 5 minutes to allow for an historical photograph of the Salamanca Market to be taken.  Motorists are requested to avoid this area if possible, and to take an alternative route through the city to travel to SandyBay, Kingstonor South Hobart. 

At 8am on Sunday 1 April 2012the eastern end of Salamanca Place will be closed until 4pm to allow for the outdoor Salamanca Arts Festival Theatre and Music event to take place.

Motorists should take special care within these areas and to pay attention to any directions provided to them by on-duty police officers.  Any queries regarding these temporary road closures should be directed to Tasmania Police on telephone number 131 444.
