On Sunday 26 May 2013, the annual Kingston Rotary Fun Run and Walk will occur in Kingston.

This event will commence at 9.00am from the Kingborough Sports Centre and will finish by 10.30am at Kingston Beach.

In accordance to Section 56A of the Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999, Tasmania Police advise of the temporary closing of the following streets to facilitate this event: 

• Gormley Drive (8.50am to 9.20am)
• Summerleas Road from Kingston View Road to 200 metres south of Willowbend Road (8.50am to 9.20am)
• Huon Highway between Southern Outlet and Channel Highway (9.00am to 10.00am)
• Beach Road from Channel Highway to Balmoral Road (south bound lanes only – 9.00am to 9.45am)
• Balmoral Road from Beach Road and Osborne Esplanade (9.10am to 10.30am)
• Osborne Esplanande from Balmoral Road to Victoria Street (9.10am to 10.30am)

Vehicular and pedestrian traffic wanting to travel on or cross the event route will be affected.

The road closures will occur only when the participants are on or approaching that section of roadway.  Police will be in attendance to manage traffic and will stop or direct traffic away from the event route.
