At 2.05pm today Tuesday 24th December 2013 a fully laden log truck travelling east on Sheffield Main Road at Sheffield failed to negotiate a left hand bend and rolled over.

A 28 year old male was the sole occupant and has been taken to hospital due to injuries sustained. The injuries are not believed to be serious.

The vehicle was extensively damaged and the logs rolled into a nearby paddock. Traffic was disrupted for approximately four hours as a result of the crash.

Tasmania Police, Tasmania Ambulance Service, SES and Tasmania Fire Service, Workplace Standards and Transport Inspectors attended. Enquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing.
