Traffic Crash – Intersection of Mount Street, Old Surrey Road and Ridgley Highway

At 4.25pm Wednesday the 11th May Police, Tasmania Fire Service and Ambulance Tasmania attended a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Mount Street, Old Surrey Road and Ridgley Highway.

The vehicles involved were a 2012 White Mitsubishi Triton which had been heading along the Ridgley Highway onto Old Surrey Road and a 2003 white Mitsubishi Lancer which had been traveling along Old Surrey Road towards Mount Street.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the Lancer has crossed over the intersection to travel onto Mount Street into the path of the Triton traveling east to Old Surrey Road.

As a result of the crash the occupants from the Lancer were transported to the North West Regional Hospital in a stable condition. Two were later released and the third will remain in hospital overnight.

Traffic was diverted around the scene for two hours.

At the time of the crash it was raining causing slippery conditions.
