Traffic Crash Bass Highway Burnie Involving Ambulance
Ambulance Tasmania were en-route to a medical emergency under lights and sirens around 4.10pm yesterday when they were involved in a traffic crash on the Bass Highway in Burnie at the Wilson Street intersection.
A white Holden utility travelling south on Wilson Street had entered the intersection on a green light but failed to give way to the emergency vehicle also entering the intersection causing the two vehicles to collide resulting in the Holden rolling onto the driver’s side and stopping on the southern side of the highway.
The driver of the Holden was transported to the North West Regional Hospital and was later released.
Two paramedics from the ambulance were provided first aid at the scene.
Police, Tasmania Fire Service and additional ambulance crews attended the scene.
